E. Uğurcan Ügümü is a seasoned professional with a robust background in hospitality and entrepreneurship, holding dual degrees in hospitality management from Glion Institute of Higher Education and Portsmouth University. His career began at the Ritz-Carlton Istanbul, where he contributed to the sales team, gaining valuable insight into luxury hospitality standards and client relationship management.
As a shareholder in his family’s renowned restaurant, Hünkar Lokantası—a company dating back to 1950—Uğurcan deepened his expertise in the food and beverage industry, bridging traditional culinary excellence with modern business practices. In 2015, he ventured into entrepreneurship by founding The Standard Coffee in Istanbul, a specialty coffee concept, which he successfully operated for three years, establishing a local presence in Istanbul’s competitive café market.
Building on his experience, he co-founded Cachet in 2017 with A. Mehmet Mutlu, where he now oversees business operations and strategic growth. Cachet has since become a notable player in its industry, reflecting Uğurcan’s dedication to innovation and quality service. His journey represents a blend of luxury hospitality, family heritage, and entrepreneurial spirit, each marked by a commitment to excellence.

Mehmet’s passion for textiles is rooted in his family’s multi-decade legacy as a global leader in textile production and distribution, serving renowned clients such as Sears, Marks & Spencer, and TJ Maxx. Building on this heritage, he has positioned Cachet at the intersection of craftsmanship, sustainability, and modern luxury, delivering fully integrated, end-to-end solutions to an international clientele.
Beyond textiles, Mehmet is Partner at Berkeley Ventures, where he supports transformative technologies in emerging markets. His portfolio includes Darwinbox, a leading HR-technology unicorn in Asia, and Chazki, a logistics innovator redefining last-mile delivery across Latin America. He is also an investor and board member at Farmicca, a Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) technology company, and M-Based, a sustainable material sciences company, contributing strategic and commercial guidance.
Earlier in his career, Mehmet held senior roles at Marsh & McLennan and HSBC, specialising in risk consulting, capital markets, and Islamic finance.
